Vanbrugh Community Association and the Mycenae House Community Centre team believe in the value of building a strong, healthy and supportive community.
We have a mission to serve the residents of the Blackheath Westcombe Ward and the Royal Borough of Greenwich by providing first class, modern and accessible services and resources.
Our aim is to develop a contemporary, fit for purpose facility and a first class programme. We will innovate and develop a new kind of community hub which redefines the impact, quality and values of community.
(Our definition of community includes the widest range of all people living within the Royal Borough irrespective of their age, race, social class, sexuality and religion).
Our development plan includes a radical updating of Mycenae House including the installation of a lift to all floors, the reinstatement of original features of the historic 1930’s building, and the upgrading of rooms, facilities and resources. A major development objective includes the implementation of an innovative programme of activities and cultural event which includes commercial income generation, fundraising and partnership work.
We gratefully receive financial support (which currently equates to 10% of our basic income needs) from the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The remainder of our annual budget is generated directly through income from our activities. To achieve our further development goals we have set a fundraising and ‘partnership building’ plan. We are always keen to hear from others with ideas and opportunities.
However modest, support from individuals is highly valuable and valued in our work. Many of the pledges we’ve received from individuals have provided the catalyst to major developments.
Recent support has come in the form of donations of money, in-kind support, the loan of equipment and bequests.
If you would like to support our work in any way, we would, of course, be delighted to talk to you.
If you wish simply to donate money, you can do so by contacting us on email@example.com

We rely on the support of volunteers to deliver our services. You and others can volunteer in many ways! We need people to help serve in the Cafe/Bar, to supervise events, do gardening and DIY jobs around the House, and to distribute leaflets.
We also need new Board members to help manage, guide and plan our future. We are particularly keen to add people with HR, Financial and Community Development skills and experience. Call Mark on 020 8858 1749 to discuss.
